This weekend, Art+Practice visited with Iron Necklace: an Ohio based Sioux drumming and singing group performing at a Pow-Wow, in Mohican, Ohio. As celebrations of Native American culture and heritage, Pow-Wows are a place of meeting, where new friendships are made and old ones renewed. The events include singing, dancing, and various rituals. The Necklace family will be contributing traditional music to Art+Practice’s first feature AMERIKA: a notebook in three parts.

Upcoming Episode

On location for an upcoming episode of "The Amerikans," interns Leah Wood and Erin Amlicke, along with assistant director Jackson Bierfeldt, sit with Art+Practice director of photography Micha Hilliard. Hilliard is a graduate of Oberlin College ('11) who has spent the last year shooting videos for non-profits in Palestine, Jordon, India, Nepal, Rwanda, and Mongolia. His work can be seen at and was recently featured on the website DSLR Newsshooter.
